Routes, Stairs, and Elevators

During the tour, destinations along the routes are within sight, or wayfinding signs are placed at consistently visible intervals.

The first and last steps of staircases have high-contrast edges and are equipped with at least a one-sided handrail.

All exhibition and aquarium areas in the MEERESMUSEUM are accessible via elevators. In case of an emergency call, it is confirmed acoustically, and elevator stops are announced verbally.

Exhibit information

Information about exhibits is mostly provided in written form or through photorealistic representations, but not in simplified (easy-to-read) language. This information is complemented by digital, interactive media stations. An induction hearing system is not available.

Helpful information

Seating is available in the exhibition and aquarium areas. Most exhibits and information panels can also be viewed from a seated position.

Several restroom facilities are available, including those accessible for people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users.
