Tips for your visit and frequently asked questions
There is no right of cancellation for booked time slot tickets.
There are fixed time slots to choose from for admission to the OZEANEUM.
Book your tickets via our online ticket shop: deutsches-meeresmuseum.ticketfritz.de/en.
Choose your date and the time slot for admission. You can check the desired number of tickets in the shopping cart before completing the purchase process.
Payment options are PayPal, credit card and giropay.
Tickets can be booked bindingly a maximum of 14 days in advance and cannot be cancelled.

Tickets are available at the entrance to the museum up to 60 minutes before closing time.
July and August: Daily from 9:30 am to 7 pm
September to June: Daily from 9:30 am to 5 pm
24 December: closed
31 December: from 9:30 am to 3 pm
(Box office closing time: 60 minutes before closing)
We recommend the registration of groups in advance to avoid longer waiting times.

With various digital applications you can dive even deeper into the world of the northern seas when visiting the OZEANEUM.
There is free W-LAN available in the OZEANEUM for you to use the apps or guides. We recommend that you bring your own headphones for audio applications. The rental of audioguide equipment is not possible.

OZEANEUM has been designed as an open and spacious complex that provides easy accessibility for all visitors. In 2017, OZEANEUM was awarded “Accessibility certified”, a certificate which is recognized throughout Germany.
Elevators | All exhibitions and aquaria are accessible by using elevators. Please note the pictographs for wheelchairs and prams in our building plan. |
Bistro | PAUSCH-Bistro at OZEANEUM is located at ground level. You can choose between different breakfast and lunch offers, drinks and snacks. |
Wardrobe | Lockers are located at ground level at OZEANEUM’s foyer. |

Seating areas | There is adequate seating capacity in every tour of OZEANEUM. |

Family friendly
The OZEANEUM has a "Sea for Children" area specially designed for children, which is a fascinating world of experience with many hands-on elements. With our family discount, family members accompanied by a child receive reduced admission.
The OZEANEUM has breastfeeding and nappy-changing rooms. Elevators provide access to all exhibitions and aquariums, even with a baby carriage or wheelchair.
Museum Shop
The museum store is located in the foyer of the OZEANEUM. Have a look at the large selection of books, posters, decorations, games and lots of OCEAN.
The consumption of food is not permitted on the tour. Visit the PAUSCH restaurant on the first floor of the OZEANEUM before, during or after the tour.
