Underwater journey

Have you ever wanted to explore the broad expanse of the ocean? Then come and see the OZEANEUM and MEERESMUSEUM in Stralsund. The OZEANEUM located on the harbour island shows giant life-size whale models and displays fascinating aquaria populated by schools of fish, rays, sea horses and octopuses. The MEERESMUSEUM in the historic old town features tropical coral reefs, sharks and turtles. Both museums also house exhibitions on the biodiversity of Baltic waters and much more.

Nature and technology

If you are interested in nature but prefer to stay above the water surface, you should stop by at Wolin National Park. The park’s nature museum is devoted to the flora and fauna of Wolin’s primeval forest – the place where the white-tailed eagle, the otter and the Eurasian eagle-owl meet. Three hiking trails lead through the park. Hint: Do not miss to do a side trip to the European Bison Show Reserve.
If you are more into engineering and technology, the Museum of Technology and Communication located in the old railway depot in Szczecin may be the right thing for you. Classic and vintage cars, motorcycles and trams will set your pulse racing. A unique collection of lovingly assembled old vehicles that is presented within an appealing setting revives old memories of long-forgotten times. Children can play interactive games, design a car on their own or take a tour of the city with a 100-year-old tram. Our driving simulator is fitted into a historic tramcar from the 1970s. It is accessible for children and adults alike.
